ORPIC

The client was a new company, a coming together of Oman Oil’s refining and petrochemicals industries under one new brand. I worked as the creative lead on this project.

The brief was to come up with a brand that would stand apart from the oil & gas industry, and also bring on board the local population in a positive way.

The branding team came up with the Orpic name as a way to get the RPI acronym into a new compound word that works well phonetically in English and Arabic.

I worked closely with an Arabic designer to craft the typography in the wordmark so both languages would echo each other in shape. I also had a lot of input into the art direction of the staff portraiture that would become the core imagery of the new brand.

The colour scheme and people-focused photography were chosen to help the brand stand apart in the oil & gas sector, and fulfil the brief to make the brand appeal locally.

We produced a brand guidelines and a wide range of collateral for the brand launch, both offline and online.
